1,000 Pounds of Compassion
By Matt Grant
| It has been my joy to lead the 4th and 5th graders in gathering food for those in need over the past few months. We recently wrapped up our Food Drive for Food Lifeline. Thanks to the generosity and support of MH Shoreline attendees and the local Shoreline community, over 1,000 pounds of food was donated to Food Lifeline in an effort to alleviate hunger and show Jesus’ compassion in Western Washington! When that amount of food is combined with the financial donations we received, Food Lifeline will be able to distribute food for more than 2,800 meals to hungry families in the Western Washington community. | ![]() |

Stop and think about that, 2,800 meals. That’s more than 2,800 stomachs that will be full because of the grace and compassion shown through this food drive. It is my prayer that Jesus has been glorified through this effort. All the glory, honor, and power go to our glorious savior Jesus Christ, who gives us the ultimate pattern for compassion in that He “came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matt 20:28) |
