Men’s Morning Prayer Replay – March 19th 2008

By Matt Grant

We had a solid gathering of men at the Shoreline offices this morning for prayer. Pastor Steve led us in week one of a devotional on the different components of the Lord’s prayer in Matthew 6:5-13. This week we drilled down on Matthew 6:9 where Jesus tells us to praise, lift up, and glorify God the Father while in prayer. Steve provided the following list of passages that focus on proclaiming and glorifying the mighty name of the LORD.

  • Exodus 34:5-8; Deuteronomy 32:3-4 and 39-41; Isaiah 43:25; Isaiah 48:11-13; Hebrews 12:28-29; Hebrews 1:3; Philipians 2:10-11

Below is list of strategic prayer requests we covered for our campus this morning. Please join us in prayer for the following items:

Good Friday

  • Pray for Rocket Minor as they practice and prepare to lead us in song as we respond to God’s glory manifested in His sacrifice on the cross.
  • Pray for Justin Schaeffer, Cole Bratcher, and their volunteers as they carry out all details for decoration, service flow, coordinating volunteers and schedules this Friday
  • Pray that the Holy Spirit would draw people and prepare them to be moved through meditation on Jesus’ death on their behalf.

Easter

  • Pray that God would bring a ton of people to our campus packing out all three services in order that many who don’t know Jesus might hear the gospel.
  • Pray that the Baptisms would be a wonderful celebration of new life in Christ and a God glorifying demonstration of obedience to all.
  • Pray for Pastor Mark as he prepares his sermon. Pray that the Holy Spirit would bring folks and prepare their hearts and guide his words to bring saving faith to many of the visitors attending our campus that day.

Mercy Ministry

  • Pray for our May 3rd day of service.
  • Pray that the opportunities to bless our community that God wants for us would occur.
  • Pray that our community would respond w/ overflowing love and mercy to those around them in response to God’s grace in their lives.

Children’s Ministry

Pray for smooth operations and enough volunteers on Easter Sunday

  • For Current Volunteers

Pray they would experience joy by developing authentic relationships with the children and families that are centered on and glorify Jesus.

Pray that the teachers would learn to effectively communicate Biblical truths in an applicable and creative manner to the children—and that Jesus would work through the teachers and assistants to speak into the children’s lives.

  • For Volunteer Recruitment

Pray for wisdom to effectively articulate and promote the need for more volunteers.

Pray that Jesus would move in the hearts of many to use their time, talents, and treasure to serve the children and families at MH Shoreline (and MH in general).

Pray specifically for the following leadership vacancies and general needs….

4 more people to help with the Good Friday service

A full-time primary teacher at the 9am

A service lead at the 9am

A music teacher to step up and lead in music at the 11:15am and 5pm services

Security guards at the 9 and 11:15am services

  • For Families and Children

Pray that parents would spend more time with their kids in the Bible; discussing sin, repentance, and faith; and how to apply Biblical principles to their lives

Pray for a teachable and obedient spirit among the children.

Pray that Jesus would open the hearts of the children to recognize sin, repent, and honor and cherish Jesus.

Pray that unsaved children and families would respond and submit to Jesus on Easter.

Pray for overall safety around children’s ministry on Sundays–safety from wolves in the flock, predators of any sort, or estranged parents.

  • For CRISTA Children’s Center Staff

Pray for the overall blessing of their operations and ministry.

Pray that our relationship with the Children’s Center would remain strong and that we would continue to be trustworthy in their eyes.

  • For CM Leadership

Pray for wisdom, clarity, and direction on how best to use CM as an effective outreach tool to the community in Snohomish and North King counties.

Pray for wisdom, clarity, and direction in how to be a better spiritual support to children and families at Shoreline.

A Gift Unearned

by Pastor Joe Day
This past week we introduced a new song to the good folks at Shoreline. There were a number of requests for the chord sheet and so I figured I’d post it here, along with an mp3 and the story behind the song.
I have been listening to the Psalms on my commute to [...]
