BUDGET UPDATE

• As Pastor Mark has mentioned the past two weeks, Mars Hill’s giving is 10% lower than this time last year with 1000 more people coming through the doors year over year. We need those that call Mars Hill their home, members and regular attenders, to give faithfully and sacrificially. Click here for the theology of giving and online giving page.

SHORELINE CAMPUS MEMBERS FORUM LIVE!

• The campus members forums have begun! Members, be sure to log in and check them out! Be sure to read the home page announcement from the elders for details on the “why” of going campus specific. If you are a member and don’t know your user name and password, email userhelp@marshillchurch.org.

WINTER GOSPEL AND MIDWEEK CLASSES ARE HERE! Beginning January 9th, 2008

• Shoreline Campus’ Winter Quarter will begin Wednesday January 9th at 7pm on the CRISTA campus.
• If you are interested in becoming a member or finding out more about Mars Hill Church, our beliefs, our mission, who we are, and what and why we do what we do, join us for our Gospel Class. Click Here to register.

• 7pm at Mars Hill members the Millet’s house (8412 Olympic View Drive, Edmonds, WA 98026). Come ready for a good time!!

COMING UP THIS WEEK on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 16th, 2007!

• 1:30 – 3:30pm Considering Marriage Seminar: The Bible speaks of marriage as a covenant, a model, a form of relational, romantic, and practical worship that reflects the exquisite romance between Christ and His church. This seminar serves as an informational overview of premarital study for couples wanting to be married by a Mars Hill elder, and or intending to take the pre-marriage class. It is open to anyone in Mars Hill who plans to be married in the next 8-12 months and intends to enroll in the quarterly Biblical Marriage class. You do not need to be a member to register.

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES!

• There will be Christmas Eve services at two of our MH campuses, but not Shoreline. This is a great opportunity to visit another campus! Be sure to invite friends and family!
• West Seattle 6pm: Children’s choir, worship, Christmas message, and dessert
• Wedgwood 5:30pm and 7pm

SHORT TERM MISSION TRIP, APRIL 2008

• Are you interested in a short-term mission trip? Join a team from Mars Hill for a journey into Central America to help clean up damage from the latest hurricane to hit their shores. The trip is April 5 – 19, 2008. An informational meeting will be held at the Douglass-Truth Library (2300 E. Yesler Way) on December 11th from 6 – 8 p.m. If you are unable to attend the meeting and would like more information, please contact Janelle Baarspul (jabaarspul@yahoo.com) or Tracy Williams (froggies102@hotmail.com).

*SERVING NEEDS*

Mars Hill is one body with many parts. We simply are not honoring the Lord when we are not sacrificing our time, treasure and talents for the church we attend. If you are not serving, please change that today.

• The Financial Ministry desperately needs volunteers for the 11:15 am and 5:00 pm services. If you are a MH member and can count to ten, please email shoreline@marshillchurch.org to get involved.

• NEW MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY! We are starting a new ministry to focus on connecting people to information, serving teams, community groups, covenant ministry, gospel class, membership, etc. It will be called the CONNECT TEAM. If you would like to serve by helping people get connected to the above ministry areas, or by answering the many questions people have about our church and its resources, contact shoreline@marshillchurch.org and we’ll get you signed up!

• MH Youth desperately needs male and female leaders to develop relationships with and show Jesus to Proxy (high school) and Crux (junior high) teens. Email shorelineyouth@marshillchurch.org to get involved with investing in the youth at MH Shoreline.

• The Children’s Ministry is in need of volunteers, including musicians to lead the children in song for Jesus! Many volunteers are working two services per Sunday, so please consider stepping up to ease the burden and serve the next generation of Christians and families. The need is great and so is the reward. Email shorelinekids@marshillchurch.org to start serving.

• The Parking, Prayer, Refreshment, Connect, and Resource Center teams are also in need of volunteers. Our audio team needs volunteer help as well. Please email shoreline@marshillchurch.org to serve.

• 6-9pm New Year’s Eve Bowling!! Come help the North End ring in the new year with bowling pins. We’re headed to a NEW LOCATION THIS YEAR at Robinhood Lanes on Edmonds Way. Last year was awesome as many Shoreliners strutted their pro-bowler panache and boogied down to karaoke. For more information email shoreline@marshillchurch.org.

• 7pm-10pm Resurgence workshop: Walking in the land of blur. Dr. Peter Jones addresses the overall context of New Age and Paganism as it affects our culture today. With the wisdom and expertise of Dr. Jones may we be enabled to preach a faithful gospel by understanding today’s current beliefs. Please register here.

• Making the Band Winter “08: The worship department is calling all those interested in being band leaders and musicians for the purposes of broadening our reach in the church and calling leaders to step up out of the woodwork. This will also be an opportunity for musicians to connect with Band Leaders and other musicians. Email joel@marshillchurch.org for more information.

• ANNUAL WOMEN’S RETREAT AT SEMIAHMOO RESORT: By His Wounds We Are Healed. What did Christ accomplish for us on the cross? The Apostle Paul delves deeply into this question in his letter to the Ephesians. We’ll study through this book together, opening our eyes to the wonder of our inheritance in Christ. “That you may know what is the hope to which He has called you, what are the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints .” Eph. 1:18. This event sold out well in advance last year so register early.

• Resurgence National Conference: Text & Context. Resurgence and Acts 29 are excited to host a premiere conference on preaching. Featured speakers include pastor/author John Piper, pastor/author Mark Driscoll, pastor Matt Chandler and author/consultant Jim Gilmore. This conference will take a hard look at the text and context both in the word of God and in the world today.
